Another clear morning in Linda Mar. Well, a bit more of the same, smaller and mushier on the south end 2-4’ longboard-able and bigger and more closed out on the north end. Nobody out at the north end, but if I didn’t have to work, I would have tried to catch some of the rights that come through as a nice shoulder every so often. North end, probably 3-5 foot. Fairly clean, but kind of short period, looks like 9 or 10 sec. Overall not a bad day, but don’t call in sick for it. I’d guess that as the tide pushes in in the next few hours that conditions will get better. Maybe we will venture somewhere out of town this weekend to catch some better waves???
Well, Blogger.com was being a pain in the butt again this morning and not wanting to load the pictures, but here are some from around 8AM this morning. Overall, it looked like some nice 4-5' lines up on the north end of Linda Mar. A little bit textured, but nobody out and surely some fun rides to be had. There were 4 guys who looked like they were thinking about going out on the north end, but when they saw nobody was out they got scared, so retreated to be followers and crowd up the south end. They surely missed out. Unfortunately, I had to go into work because I was already running late. So, here's the pics:
Damn its starting to get dark too early now. We'll I checked Linda Mar and Rockaway around 7PM. Rockaway looked a little bumpy, but with some size 6-8' and Linda Mar had some size, but mostly closed out on anything north of Taco Bell, and pretty small on the south end. So, I chose to go out at Rockaway and take out my 6'6" rounded pin which I hadn't got to take out all summer. I defintiely picked the right board. There were some good sizable rights and lefts, but I had to call it an early session when I couldn't see the water any more. The offshore winds that we had today and are still supposed to be in tomorrow are making the conditions not too bad.
Waves this morning around 7AM were 3-4', fairly clean with a light offshore wind. Mostly closed out. There were a few guys trying to get waves, but most weren't able to get in on the waves. A little better than yesterday. The photo upload was not working today for some reason.
Well, back in town after the Santa Cruz trip. Caught some good waves at Moss Landing, Pleasure Point and Manresa. I put some pics up in the next couple of days. I ran out this morning without my camera, so I will just give a report for Linda Mar. The waves were about 2-3', fairly glassy at 7:30AM. Looked a little closed out, but definitely some make-able sholders. Looked like the sun was about to peek out. Not a bad day to take out the longboard.
