Its Friday 9/15/06 - Bring on the Funk

Well, the wind has continued to be strong and put a little funk on the water. The wind was probably 15 mph onshore, overall didn't look too exciting. And back by popular demand, I put another sunset picture. I will be taking a trip down to Santa Cruz for the weekend, so I will not be giving the Linda Mar report, but if anyone else can post it, then that would be great. Hope you catch some good waves this weekend.

Report for Thurs 9/14/06 Windy, but not terrible conditions

Well, the wind is very strong as the reports predicted, but at Linda Mar and Rockaway it is kind of side shore/offshore, so it is not destroying things. In the beginner zone on the south end of Linda Mar is the only spot that really has peeling waves, 3-4' occasional larger sets. It is mostly closed out on the rest of the beach. The wind is pretty strong where if you aren't careful to hold down your nose, then your board will flip over. Rockaway was a little more bumpy, nobody out, with some ridable 4-6' waves.

And by France's request, Heres a sunrise picture!

Wed 9/13/06 Surf Report - Swell Pulsing In

It looks like we are starting to get some pulses of the swell. Right now Linda Mar is holding it pretty well, especially toward the south. In a matter of minutes I saw the 4 guys out each get a wave or two that had some face to work with. A little more longboardable though. Toward the north end, it was a bit bigger, 6' with occasional 8', but more closed out. Looked like there was something makable every so often. Sorry that the pictures are so bad. In the overcast light fog, my camera doesn't do the best:

Surf Report 9/12/02 - Clean Close-Outs

Happy Tuesday! WEll, today is another foggy day, but there was at least enough visibility to see a few waves. They were clean, but closed out about 2-3'. I didn't see anyone catch any waves, but I think they were all beginners because I think most people would have chosen to go back to sleep or go to work if they saw the conditions. It was super drained out low tide, so maybe as the tide comes in along with this new swell, it may get better.

Just for kicks, at least these guys where having fun fishing!

UPDATE: As I was driving into work around 8AM, the sun broke through in Linda Mar and Rockaway. The north end of LM was probably 4' with one person out - very clean close-outs and Rockaway from what I could see looked a little bit bigger and may have not been closing out as bad.

Surf Report for Monday Morning Sept 11 2006

Well, this morning it was super foggy in Linda Mar, so there wasn't much of a picture to take. It looked like the waves were pretty small, but I couldn't see much.

Sunday Session

We'll I called the Ocean Beach report and it sounded good, so we headed up there around 11AM. It was very glassy and peaky. A consistent 4-5' with occasional bigger sets. Lots of lefts, but some good long rights. A bit more of a crowd than Montara yesterday, but still not too bad. A strong current pushed from Pacheco to Fulton in about a 2-3 hour session. The waves were a bit steeper the further north, but a little more textures. Overall a 7 out of 10 due to crowds and being a little less consistent than yesterday.
