Report and Session for 9-9-06 afternoon

So I decided not to clean the toilet and toured south to look for some waves. Here were some photos of the Nude Beach:

I was hoping for a little more, so I went down to Montara. Here were the pictures for there:

So these waves lured me in the water. Right as I got in the water I saw a guy get a nice in and out barrel, so I got pretty pumped. I ended up being in the water for almost 3 hours. Once it started hitting the back side of the tide is started closing out a bit more. But overall a good session. I'd give it an 8 out of 10. Not crowded, head high surf, peeling with some hollow waves.

Please Help Create the On Demand Surf Report

I'm hoping to create an innovative concept of surf reports that will have organic growth to make the surf report into what everyone dreams it to be. Please let me know if you have any recommendations or would like to become a part. I hope that we can constantly make it better. If you would like to set up your own similar reports, then I can put links to yours and give you guidance on how to set it up. Just let me know.

Saturday's Surf Report 9-9-06

Well after yesterday's good session with nobody out, I was optimistic for at least some good surf today on the rising tide. I checked the surf at about 11AM and high tide is at 12:45PM. Overall there were some 3-4' waves but they were really soft. Even longboarders were struggling to keep speed. They were just rolling through. It is overcast and misting out. There were probably 500 people in the water in Linda Mar...so I opted to look elsewhere or maybe clean my toilet.

Report and Session Summary for Fri 9/8/06 Morning

So, this morning I woke up and skateboarded down to Linda Mar on a K Schwick Skateboards Revolver Model to check out the waves at about 6:45AM. First I took some photos of the South End where everyone was out....These were the best photos of the about 5-10 minutes that I watched. Overall it looked like 4-6 fun waves in that time. Maybe 2-4 foot, a little offshore wind, some waves that weren't closeouts!

Then I cruised up to check out the middle and north end. It was definitiely much bigger down there. Then a nice 5-6' right peeled through. Followed by a few closeouts. Here are a couple of pictures:

After seeing these waves with nobody out I thought it was worth running back to get my board. The tide was pretty low (1-2’) but it was rising with a high around 12:30PM so I thought the shape could improve some. So, I took out my 6’3” shortboard. The paddle out was pretty mellow, probably had to duck under two 4’ waves and made it out. Immediately I caught a couple of head high waves that closed out pretty quickly. The seaweed attacked me, you know when it gets wrapped around your leash. Then there was a bit of a lull and I seemed to keep on getting pulled out. Once I got inside enough I caught a few nice head high lefts and rights. I got slammed by an 8’ set. Then caught another couple and had to run off to work. I’m sure once the tide filled in that it got a bit better.
