Today's Surf

I know its a little late now, but today's surf didn't look much better than the past couple of days...just a soupy stormy ocean. I did hear that HMB Jetty was pretty decent this morning with clean head high waves. I'm out of town for the weekend, so maybe a guest reporter will be so nice and give you the report.

Also, by the way, I'm out of town most of next week and if anyone is interested in keeping up the reports from 12/21/06-12/28/06 then send me an e-mail dailysurfreport@gmail.com and I can let you know how to post. Everyone will greatly appreciate your contributions.

Aloha!

12/14/06 Surf Report

The surf this morning at Linda Mar once again looks stormy and not too surf-able. I was watching it for a while and the waves looked like they may start shaping up, and then a set of three 8 foot walls rolled through which showed me why nobody was out.

Not to make your day gloomy, but just to keep you informed in case you haven't heard. Check out this article on the recent shark attack: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2006/12/12/BAGMTMU19R1.DTL
isn't it surprisingly similar to the one in 2002

Maybe its best to stick to Surfing South of Golden Gate??

12/13/06 Surf Report

The swell has come down a little bit and it looks like it may start to get rideable soon. Wind was sideshore-offshore with 3-5' waves, but still mostly walled up. Pedro Point looked to have a nice peeling left with nobody on it. There were 3 or 4 surfers out in the water trying to catch waves, but I didn't see them ride anything intersting.

12/12/06 The Swell Continues

There continues to be large stormy looking surf at Linda Mar. Mostly whitewash. North end of beach 6-10' south end 3-4'. There was one guy out on the south end trying to catch some waves, but I didn't see him catch anything. All we can hope for is that all this swell energy will shape up some good sand bars.

12/11/06

As I'm sure you've heard there is a huge swell out there. Victory at sea! No pictures today. But if you haven't seen 10'+++ surf, then get out there to check it out. But you probably won't want to bring your board. We'll there were a few people out on the south end of Linda Mar catching some 3-5' walls.
